When I was trying to find a way to make a mock up of the Running For Him shirt I ended up ordering a really rough version of the shirt. I anxiously waited the arrival of this shirt, only to put it in my closet and stare at it frightfully. Even though I've been excited to wear the shirt, I've also been aware that the reactions I will recieve will not always be positive. I've been pursued by the devil through this whole process and he's tried to shake me from it on numerous occaisions. But, yet I stand strong in the Lord and he's given me encouragement day after day.
I recently began the Old Testament over, I celebrated finishing the last half of it just a few weeks ago and I was eager to get to the beginning and read it through wholly. Today I began reading about Noah. If anyone knew what it was like to stand out among people it was Noah. He literally was the only one with whom God could find favor, true righteousness. Still, in the middle of a throughally corrupt world, Noah stayed faithful to God. As I was reading what God had to say about this world he had created I stopped at one verse.
Genisis 6:6
The Lord was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain.
When God created us he gave us the gift of free will. We were tricked by the devil who presented our limitations as unfair restrictions set by God. He distracted us from all that we had, at the time a beautiful garden abounding and instead he drove us to focus on what we didn't have, the knowledge of good and evil. We fell for his trick and we doubted God using our free will to leave his good graces.
Still the generations to come after Adam's creation did not want to simply obey God, but they delved into the world of sin head first. So much so that God had to wipe the entire slate clean and start over with Noah. Yet, God did not gain any pleasure from doing this. It wasn't an easy choice, it grieved him and filled his heart with pain! Our God loves us because we are his children. When our children fail to obey us and use their free will and then eventually fall into a situation where they are hurt or hurt someone else our heart aches for their mistakes. We know that if they would have listened to our wisdom they could have been saved from that pain.
I think about the world we live in today and all of the truly heart breaking things we do to each other and I can only imagine how grieved the Lord is today. How filled his heart is with pain for those who are meant to be his, but they chose not to. Those who chose not to believe, who will have to face the unquenchable fire of hell one day. However, we can be the light and the hope to those who feel the Lord tugging at their heart, that we can be the one who helps lead them to salvation.
Let us not be afraid to wear the shirt and stand out among the crowd. We will stay faithful to our Lord and be the Noah of our day!
*I am really happy to report I have 4 great ladies who are waiting for a t-shirt and I am working hard to get those ordered. It is a means of having the right funds at the moment because we do have to place a larger order. I am hoping to have the shirts mailed out to you by March. Thanks everyone who is stepping up to make this happen! I also will have stickers that were designed by a company for FREE. Praise the Lord! They look great and I will send them out to you with your shirts.
