How do I become saved and why do I need salvation?
When God created us, Man and Woman, we were made in his loving image. (Genisis 1:27) Shortly after our creation we were tempted by Satan and failed to obey God's commands and sin was born in our hearts. (Genisis 3) Sin is not something we can remove from ourselves, it's power is great and, at times, debilitating. Sin takes form in lust, greed, hatred, anger, jealousy and often the devil uses pain in our life to fester our sinful nature. But there is a way to overcome sin and it's power over us.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.- Romans 6:23
In fact the best news is that the debt has been paid. The cost was the life of God's one and only son, Jesus. (Matthew 1:18-25) He came to earth, born as just a baby in the poorest of conditions. He came to reach those who needed the price to be paid for their sins. He lived as God among us with compassion and love for us. He came knowing what he had to do. And so he gave his life on the cross all for you. You matter to God and your life is something he wants to restore to you. (Matthew 27:45-56)
On the third day, after his death, he rose from the grave. (Matthew 28) He defeated death and the power sin has over us. Instead, by simply believing in the power of Jesus as God's Son and the sacrifice of his life to pay for your sins, accepting it as a gift, you will live forever in heaven! He will return and claim us as his own where we can go and recieve perfect eternal life. (John 3:16-21) God wants nothing more than to restore and heal you, will you take the first step today and simply believe and let him have your heart?
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.Revelation 21:4(KJV)
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. - Romans 10:9
